|
| everyone's asleep and the pitter-patter of rain can be heard on the window. i |
| keep forgetting to write here, but at least i'm still writing. i'm a little |
| exhausted and sleepy, but it's been a long time since i've had some alone time |
| to just write, so that's what i'm doing. |
|
|
| i'm writing this in vim, like usual, but i recently turned off syntax |
| highlighting for things, and it's kind of nice and relaxing. some of the bright |
| colors can be jarring, but that could also be fixed by disabling bold |
| highlighting in vim--i dunno lol. anyway, it's a calm experience, and it matches |
| how things look when i'm writing a plain ol' `.txt` file. |
|
|
| i heard the kid sneeze a couple of times just now, so i'm not sure how much |
| longer i should try writing this out, in case he wakes up, and i'm stuck here, |
| at this point, in this blog post, not knowing what my train of thought was if i |
| were to come back and try to continue. i think this is one of the hardest parts |
| about parenting. you don't really ever get a long enough time to do your own |
| things, or stay in a long enough train of though to get any of the substantial |
| stuff that you could get out before life changed. this isn't bad, it's just |
| different, and i need to get used to it. i guess the benefit of me not having |
| time to write longer blog posts is that folks who like to read my blog don't |
| need to spend a lot of time reading to keep up with what's going on in my life, |
| if there are people reading, which i don't really care if there are... unless |
| they are friends! i care about you!! hahaha. |
|
|
| i think i might make tea and see if i can continue working on my fennel rewrite |
| of what i have currently in scheme--a static, filesystem-based website generator |
| with a shitty homegrown markup-to-html converter lol. hmmmm, speaking of, i |
| should add a parser rule to my markup convert that converts `--` to `—` (em |
| dashes). |

| oh! i got a newsletter in the email that i missed reading for a while by |
| [https://coolguy.website|coolguy.website]. if you'r reading this, zach, i love |
| reading these, as bad as i am with keeping in touch with you <3. it's wonderful |
| to know how you've been doing, and i miss the computer clubs at |
| [https://solarpunk.cool/|solarpunk.cool]!! kids take up a lot of time!! but they |
| give great joy and are absolutely wonderful, so that's okay too. |

|
| it was really nice to write all this out. i'm considering moving my blog to |
| [https://tilde.town|tilde.town], and just leaving this server for stuff i run in |
| the backend for myself and friends, but i haven't fully commited yet, so if you |
| see that my blog has disappeared from here one day, then i may have moved it to |
| tilde.town--who knows what my brain will decide in the future. |
